*Please remind your student to be coming to class prepared. Several students are coming without pencils, a silent reading book, and/or even text books.
* Our class did a remarkable job with the magazine sales. They earned a pizza party, which will be coming soon.
Grade seven core french
*We are continuing our theme on Magasiner! We have finished up to page 20 in our livres de theme. Anyone missing time is required to finish and be up to date.

Grade seven Immersion
Nous continuons notre projet final pour notre theme. En groupes de quatre, ils creent l’ecole ideal. C’est interressant de voir le talent de cette classe!

Our grade sevens are working on their newest theme “Imagine Poetry”.  I am glad to say there are several poets emerging from the classes already. 

Spelling is every day three (tomorrow, for example).

Grade eights are doing their final theme of the year:  An art theme.  They are working in groups on seven tasks.

Grade nines are working on the theme What’s Fair.  They have been reading short stories, creating products using unfair advertising techniques.  Now they are working in groups on a board game, discussing the fairness in dating.   Is proving to be interesting.

Grade nine spelling is on day 5  (next Monday!)

Currently we are working on our Avi author studies.  The six group tasks are due on Thursday, May 3 for 7a and Monday , May 7 for 7c.

The final date for the entire project is Wednesday, May 16.

Spelling test is on Monday, May 7.

Grade nines:  Due date for the Selling the Sizzle food product is Tuesday, May 8.  On Tuesday, the groups will be presenting their projects to the class.

Grade nine spelling test is Wednesday, May 9.

Grade eights are finishing up their workbook Phenomenes Canandiens.

They will be starting their final project next week.

Grade sevens, we are heading into the half way point of your group discussions on Avi.  7C has group work on Monday (being as friday was storm day).  Their next group presentation is the following Friday. 

7A has their third group presentation on Thursday.

Wednesday is Spelling day for both.  Make sure you have your homework completed!

Grade 8’s have started their newest theme:  Phenomenes Canadiens.  Very interesting theme.

Grade Nine English we are going to start our final theme of the year this week:  What’s Fair.  Hard to believe we have less than three months to go until you are sprung from Jr. High.

Your novel No Signature is due on Tuesday of next week (the 24th?)

Next week we will be starting our Avi Author study.  There will be a variety of novels from which to choose.  You will have group sharing, individual reading and a project to be working on at regular intervals.

Grade eights

We have finished our “Acadiens” theme.  After a few days of grammar (required for course), we will be starting our next theme “Les Phenomenes Canadiennes”.

Grade nines:

We are continuing in our novel “No Signature”.  Remember if you are missing a day, you may need to take the novel home to catch up.  Otherwise, the novel will be left in class.

Our next spelling day is Wednesday, April 11.

Grade nines:  Novels should be finished to the end of the first section.  Questions will be given out this week to do at your leisure.  They will be included in the in-class scribbler test at the end of the book.

Spelling test next Wednesday on lesson 15/12.

Grade sevens:

You have your next spelling test on Wednesday. 

You need to have finished your surveys by tomorrow so we can start working on our charts.  Remember, you need between 10-15 people interviewed.

We are also playing catch up with other things we started.  Salvador Late or Early will be looked at on Friday for 7A and Monday for 7C.

Next week, we will be starting to work on individual writing projects.

Grade Eights:

 We are working on our board games of grammar (Yahoo!) on Friday and perhaps carry it over to Monday as well.  Remember to take your time and do a great job, as your peers will be giving you a mark on your game.

We will need to book taping times next week for our last project. 

Grade Nines:

You have your next spelling test on Monday, Feb. 26.

Novel is always to be read in the evenings, so none of this baloney that you have no homework.  We are finished chapter 7 as a class.
