Happy hallowe’en!

Grade eights have now started their new theme called Entrepreneurs en Herbe.  8A will have finished pages 2&3 and 8B has also finished p4.  We will be viewing our websites and voting for the best in class this week!

7’s have a spelling test on Tuesday.  Any writing projects that have not been handed in on Thursday are due!

7A students whose parents did NOT attend parent-teacher interviews are to return their progress reports to me!

All pictures are to be paid for or returned ASAP.

Reminder of the upcoming dance next Thursday.  Student fees must be paid in order to attend.  Seven’s must exit the dance at 9:15pm.

Grade nines- Writing project is now due!  Late marks taken off for any paper not handed in on Monday.

Novel questions will be completed on Thursday, Nov. 2.

Monday before Parent-teacher interviews

Grade nine and both grade seven classes are to have their rough copies of their writing project finished and in class tomorrow.

The grade nines chose between a comparison, a descriptive essay or a short story.

the grade sevens choice was between a movie or a book review.

 

In grade eight French, all students are to have passed in their livrets.  We will be working on grammar all this week.

Thursday

Short weeks!  Imagine three in a row (for the students!)

This week, the grade eight french classes are working on their rough copies of their web pages.  Today and Friday, we are heading to the computer labs to get the published copy completed.

Grade seven English

Our novels are finished.  The last sets of questions should now be in.

Spelling – the next test is on October 23.

We will be working on our anthologies and magazines.

 

Grade nine English

We are still working on Forbidden City.  To be read for next Wednesday is the section April 4.

Spelling lesson four is due on Monday, October 16th.  Test this day also.

We are working this week on our first writing project.  The choices are short story, comparison, or description.  Please refer to our language and writing text for details.  They are located on the back shelf.  Remember, you need the rough copy, peer-edited as well as the final copy.

The comparison is also to be finished for Friday.  Rough copy and final copy.

Mid-Week work

October 4th, 2006

Grade Nines:

Forbidden City questions that were started in class today are due tomorrow.

Spelling unit three work is due tomorrow.  We have a test on those words and will continue in our spelling with unit four tomorrow.  It will be due next day five.

On Friday, the comparison on the two short stories is due.  The rough copy must also be handed in at this time.

Next week, we will be focusing on writing.  Please have your folder and journals in class.

Grade 8A&B Francais

We will be completing our theme livret this week.  We will be having a vocabulary quiz next Tuesday.

Grade 7A&C

Spelling test on Wednesday, October 11 (next day two).

7C novel work is due this Friday.

7A has their next assignment on Tuesday, October 10.  It will be on Chapters 11, 12, 13, 14.

Next week, we will also be focusing on writing.  Please ensure that you have a writing folder and journal scribbler.
